Who will you vote for and why it matters
Time to focus locally and get out to vote in the primary!
Why is everyone so focused on our federal elections? Are you doing your research on your local elections? Have you met any of the people running for office in your state? Do you know who is running to be your local representative or senator?
Do you like how things are going? If you LOVE high taxes and no reward, then stick with who is already running the show. But if you are sick of being taxed to death, tired of seeing YOUR tax dollars go overseas to fund proxy wars, funding one way ‘reproductive’ health for women (which no tax money actually goes into reproduction it’s only to infanticide), support of big corporations and not small businesses, and fraudulent ‘charities’ like Feeding Our Future then please think about changing your vote.
If you’re reading this most likely you live in Minnesota. If not, please go check out who’s running in your area.
The purpose of this post is to tell you about my neighbor who is running for a State House seat in district 49B. Her name is Wendi Russo and I am SO excited to have this amazing woman running.
Wendi has many innovative and exciting ideas on how to get us back on track here in Minnesota. Her focus before running for office is empowering women. She is a pageant coach, life coach, and mentor for women.
I’ve had several conversations with her and she really knows what’s up. She is a MODERATE conservative. Yes, she’s Pro-Choice (politically) but hear me out. It is in our Minnesota CONSTITUTION that abortion is a right. We can’t change that at the moment. Wendi knows this and won’t spend her energy combating this. And funny enough, the LEFT has this and only this platform behind them.
Wendi has made it clear to me that she’s not in the race to win that battle, but what she does stand for is putting money on BOTH sides of the coin - funding OTHER options for women who don’t want abortions. If our tax money goes to funding abortions and reproductive rights, that INCLUDES other options, no? She’s a sharp one that gal! And what better way to empower women by giving the real CHOICES. All that surplus tax money could be allocated to REAL things instead of funding proxy wars overseas, but I digress.
Wendi is truly empathetic to all people. She really listens and is an amazing problem solver. She has won the endorsement from the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce because of her experience in the business world and advocating for our small business owners. Something her opponent has no interest in. If we lose our small business owners to higher taxes, they will flee this state faster than a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Millennials are already relocating to lower income tax states because many jobs are remote these days anyway. Why do we want to lose our most innovative and growing minds to other areas? Minnesota was always known as the place companies come to set up shop with their corporate headquarters. Not anymore. Taxes are way too high and we are losing our workforce to other states. The radical policies, corrupt tax handling, and war mongering Democrats are literally repelling the sharpest and most creative workers to flee the state.
Wendi also has a very competitive list of things she’d like to accomplish:
Economic prosperity for the people of Eden Prairie
Excellence in education - putting students as first priority, not teachers’ unions
Be a voice for small businesses
Standing with law enforcement to support them in fighting the terrible rise we’ve had in crime in the last 4 years
Being a voice for women and funding MULTIPLE ways to support reproductive health
You can read more on Wendi’s website russoformn.com.
Wendi has been talking and collaborating, already, with many people around the state to support these issues. She’s not waiting until she gets elected. She’s doing the work now. Isn’t that what we want in a representative? Someone who puts their nose to the ground and does the actual work? I know I do.
If you live in Eden Prairie you can meet Wendi face to face on Wednesdays at the Smith Coffee House from 8:30am - 10:30am. She also has many other events listed that she will be attending so you can meet her and ask her all the questions you have regarding her campaign.
I suggest that if you do not live in EP, please look up who is running in your city, county, and state. Many of them will have events where you can meet them face to face and ask questions. There’s nothing like good face to face contact to get a good read on people.
I am very thankful that Wendi is running for office. She has the energy and determination to get things done. She is also a moderate, meaning she works well with others even if their opinions differ. Some people think this is compromising, I see it as diplomacy. Know what battles to stand on and which ones are a waste of time. Listening to your people and working for them is key. Too many candidates and our [s]elected officials are working for corporations, unions, and global agendas that aren’t what the people want. Wendi is FOR the people. I hope you look into her ideas and vote for her this November.
